Amy has been practicing yoga on and off for most of her adult life and teaching yoga since completion of her 200-hour training with Rebecca Niamtu/Yoga for the Planet in 2016. She has completed the Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) Leadership training with Nikki Myers, Trauma Informed Yoga with Hala Khouri, and various other trainings focused on the healing power of yoga. She completed 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher training and Yoga Therapy certification with JJ Gormley at Surya Chandra Healing Yoga School (SCHYS). She is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and holds specialty certificates in substance abuse and addiction, trauma healing, respiratory issues, neurological issues, sleep and insomnia, and back issues. She is also a Reiki Master Teacher, offering private Reiki sessions and group trainings.
Amy teaches from the heart and truly lives her yoga, encouraging students towards self-empowerment and improving physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. In addition to group classes with a focus on mindful breath and body awareness, Amy offers private sessions, specializing in helping clients with addiction issues, trauma/PTSD, chronic pain, and autoimmune disorders. When not teaching and studying, Amy enjoys paddle boarding and spending time in nature, exploring new places, writing, and reading inspiring memoirs. She also co-leads local and international wellness and yoga retreats.
